For decades, I have devoted myself to nutrition, written about fitness, and offered general health advice on topics such as stress and sleep. I’ve written over 20 books, read the most important scientific articles, and delved into newly discovered areas like gut flora, epigenetics, etc. I thought I had a pretty good grasp of how to stay well and maintain good health.
Therefore, it was a bit of a shock for me to realize that, parallel to what I had been exposed to, intensive research has been ongoing regarding how light of different wavelengths affects health. In practice, this research lies on the border between health and particle physics, so perhaps it’s not surprising that this enormous research area simply passed unnoticed in my nutrition-focused health industry. There are now nearly 10,000 articles published on red light therapy (RLT) since the 1960s, so when I finally opened the door to this new dimension for me, it was literally like stepping into a new world. It turned out that light could have profound effects on the body, and many of these effects resembled what a healthy diet can achieve, such as reducing inflammation, lower blood sugar, decreased body fat, increased muscle mass, and higher energy levels.
Suddenly, the boundaries between particle physics and nutrition were not so clear anymore, and this was also the reason I accepted the opportunity to work on product development at Nutrilight (you might understand how the name came about now). I want to learn more about RLT and help spread the message about this revolutionary technology that can help so many people. It was also the reason I chose to write a book on the subject. In addition to the mentioned effects, it seems to be beneficial for autoimmune diseases, eczema, and other skin conditions, hair loss, sleep problems, joint pain, and various pain conditions. Even rejuvenation mechanisms like increased stem cells, nerve cell renewal, and increased collagen production for fewer wrinkles have been reported in scientific literature. We are still waiting for the study that shows RLT will extend the life of those who use it. I don’t think we need to wait much longer…
